Tailpipe emissions: Retrofit and aftermarket
Presenting a new technology, fuel or additive is often met with scepticism. Real-world emissions testing takes your technology out of the relative comfort of the laboratory, while delivering near-laboratory accuracy. Emissions Analytics, respected for our independent and agnostic stance, delivers credible results to support your marketing and development.
Emissions Analytics delivers retrofit accreditation testing for both on- and off-road applications. We also analyse the effect on tailpipe emissions of fuels and additives using advanced two-dimensional gas chromatography with time-of-flight mass spectrometry.
Measurements available both raw exhaust and post-aftertreatment:
- Fuel economy (Mpg) and fuel consumption (L/100km)
- Carbon monoxide (CO)
- Carbon dioxide (CO2)
- Nitric oxide (NO)
- Nitrogen dioxide (NO2)
- Oxides of nitrogen (NOx = NO + NO2)
- Nitrous oxide (N2O)
- Total hydrocarbons (THC)
- Particle number (PN, lower size cut-off 23 nm)
- Particle mass (PM)
- Ammonia (NH3)
- Formaldehyde (CH2O)
- Speciated volatile organic compounds (VOCs)
- Sulphur dioxide (SO2)
- Methane (CH4)
- Non-methane hydrocarbons (NMHC).

‘Emissions Analytics carried out emissions testing on diesel generators coupled to our flywheel hybrid system. They took over the work at very short notice and showed great competence and professionalism in all stages of the project. Despite the novelty and peculiarities of our test requirements, their team showed great adaptability, attention to detail and provided excellent communication at all times.’

“As we scale up our emissions testing on our ammonia-to-power powerpack, Emissions Analytics was always available to provide timely, detailed, and accurate information. Our systems are novel and require much testing and refinement. We’ve been impressed with their diligence and commitment to excellence throughout every stage of the process.”
